A MAN who raped two women has been jailed for 11 years. Umar Aziz, 23, of Bolton, was found guilty of three counts of rape after a trial at Bolton crown court.
He also pleaded guilty to possessing drugs, handling a stolen vehicle and driving while disqualified.
A teenager was driven to an area in Ladybridge Lane, Bolton, in June 2004 then dragged out of the car by Aziz who offered her drugs then sexually assaulted and raped her.
Police launched an investigation the following day but no suspects were found.
Four years later, in June 2008, Aziz picked up his second victim in a Nissan Murano.
The woman was driven around the Rivington area of Bolton then raped. Police said the victim persuaded Aziz to stop at a supermarket then raised the alarm with police officers inside.
He was matched to the previous rape by DNA. Det Con Matt DuQuesnay said: "This man is a bully, with no regard for the law and the people he has traumatised. It has been a long wait for justice for the victims. The fact that we were able to match Aziz to this offence when he was caught shows the advantages of having a DNA database."
