A BOY who had his bike stolen is back in the saddle after neighbourhood police stepped in.
Adam Grey, 11, left his bike outside a shop in Tatton Road, Denton, for only a few minutes, but when he returned it had disappeared.
His mother Annette Kelly said: "Adam only had the bike about three weeks. It was very disappointing to have it stolen."
Seeing how distressed the theft had left Adam, neighbourhood police officer Ian Rowley and Anti-Social Behaviour Officer Catherine Kenny contacted the shop that sold Adam's parents the £100 bicycle. The retailer, who wants to remain anonymous, gave him £150 of vouchers to replace the bike and spend on equipment.
Annette said: "What Pc Rowley and Catherine have done to replace the bike is fantastic."
