BNP stronger than ever

THE British National Party is stronger than ever according to Labour's deputy leader.

The right-wing group finished second in a Moston by-election and Harriet Harman has claimed they could pose a major threat in the June European elections.

She revealed that plans are in place to counter the BNP as Labour wages a campaign to prevent them from winning their first seats in the European Parliament.

"It is a worry," she said. "Certainly they (the BNP) are a bigger threat than they have been before."

In the by-election the BNP snatched second place with 815 votes, ahead of the Lib Dems with 696 and the Conservatives with 558. Labour retained the ward with 1,353 votes.

The result comes as a blow to the Tories in what on paper had been their third best prospect of winning a seat on Manchester city council.

Ms Harman, on a campaign visit to the north west where BNP leader Nick Griffin is a candidate, said: "The party is focused on the BNP in a way it hasn't been previously."

In areas where there is BNP activity Labour is using the slogan 'fairness not fear' instead of its national banner 'winning the fight for Britain's future'. It is also teaming up with anti-fascist groups and sending in anti-BNP "battlebuses".

Ms Harman added: "Most people are not aware the BNP is standing.

"It is below the radar. There is very low public awareness of these elections. For us, it is a question of pointing out the dangers of the BNP, which now wears suits but whose ideology is as pernicious as ever."

Well what do you expect? We seem to be the dumping ground for those who are criminals in their own country. How many times over the last 12 months have I read in the media of rapes, robberies, car crime and so on, all committed by foreigners. Seems they are not welcome at home, so come here. Gangs of men of Eastern European origin roam my old home town with nothing to do. We've created a monster with this open boarder malarkey.

I am not a BNP supporter But there is too much wickedness going on and people turning against each other, if they can stop that and bring some respect back for each other they so be it.

Far from being below the radar anyone who listens to local radio,TVinterviews,reads local papers or gos on any news forum will know the new leader has been making his presence felt for years.In fact he,s more well known than Harriet Harmen.More in touch with how people feel about certain issues.Has endless energy.Can charm the person on the street and has every base covered.And thats not the BNP candidate in Moston.
From what Ive read and heard over a number of years he only joined because Tameside council wouldnt deal with his problems as a tenant.He had stood up to anti social behaviour and was treated like the enemy.I know that feeling having been there myself.
Dont blame the public.Please look at yourselves.The Labour party before its too late.

I think they need to listen to people with brains and tweak the policies. They need to make sure they have their system and not sucked into another name for what we already have. If it's another we have the power and take liberties then you might aswell do one right now. Get some fairness going. Get rid of the thuggery propaganda and you are on the way. Am I wishful thinking again for a world that will never be.

GutenTag, why single out crimes commited by 'foreigners'? The rate which migrants commit crime is around the same as the British population commit crime. Stop reading the Daily Express, Daily Mail and The Sun and read some decent newspapers.

Has 'Hattie' woken up and smelt the coffee at last? It is because of her and her stupid governments' policies that will cause people to turn to an alternative party. Whether BNP are a viable option would remain to be seen, but something has to change and sooner rather than later in order to make this country fit for purpose.

Guten Tag, 1 UK Civ Div, Manchester your words are so true where i now live in east manchester the area ive known for a long time has changed so much,and not for the better we now have some really great housing but we need something better than just new housing we need respect and law and order back in our communities and if it takes a radical party to do it most right thinking people would vote for them.and most people dont admit being a bnp party member because of the media and other main parties having a witchhunt to anybody in the bnp or any other party that the main parties dont want in britain.Infact the police dont allow their officers to be members of a legal political party, This isnt right in a democratic country where you can vote for who you want with exeptions?.

They seem to be the only party which are interested in the British way of life and the British. Whilst I don't agree with everything they stand for they can have my vote because all the others are just a bunch of self serving, thieving, hypocritical gravy train riders who don't give a toss about us.

This wouldn't be a problem in Labour learned the meaning of the word and represented working people instead of the middle class money-men. Unfortunately, they appear to be preparing the way for their retirements by feathering their nests and preparing the way for jobs on the boards of multi-nationals.

This BNP result is great news for the people of Moston, and the people of Manchester. Forget all the fairy stories which Labour and their tame bishops are pumping out about the BNP, which are no more grounded in facts than Labour's dodgy dossier on Iraq.

The fact is, Labour have used mass immigration as a deliberate instrument of policy to depress wages and gerrymander our cities for their own narrow electoral advantage. Labour have adopted Fascist policies (surveillance, DNA an web-browsing databases, ID cards) even as they had the barefaced cheek to accuse others of being Fascists. They have treated longstanding residents and ordinary local people with contempt, and they will receive their come-uppance at the polls.

As for David Cameron's dreams of a great northern revival, well they died last night in the ballot boxes of Moston. Fourth place for the official opposition party in Britain's second city - what does that say about the mass appeal of Cameron's new out-of-touch, public school turquoise "conservatism"?

I have voted Labour all my working life. The next time I vote it will not be for Labour, that have completely destroyed my country and handed it over to other nationalities by making it a land of easy benefits,thus bringing in migrants by the load.
They have said they need these migrants to do the jobs that English people wont do, while jobs are being sent abroad i.e. call centres and such. This does not make sense and I think it is just another lie by a corrupt government that has the most despicable set of MPs that one can imagine. I will be voting for the BNP party that could not be as unpatriotic as this lot.

Come-On-City - I only read one newspaper, The Sunday Times. I can see with my own eyes. Why have we let in 1000s of unskilled, non-English speaking migrants into this country? We can't even give our elderly a decent pension or provide better drugs for cancer sufferers, yet we can take in people who have no chance of finding work. They are housed and I assume, given some sort of benefit. I'm not racist, but when our own people do without, then with the use of simple economic maths, less immigration from non-skilled and more deportation of the same means more money in the government coffers for British citizens.

BNP must be the way to go. Start getting your voting prepared. The Home Office needs targetting first and we need an influx of BNP management and staff to get this mess created and abetted by Labour to sort matters out. Even the Pirates of the Somalia are giving USA and GB governments the run around.

Maybe if we didn't have as many people as we do dyeing from a lot of illness that could be avoided them we may not need as much immigration. Start by putting the right food on the table.Take away the temptation of ill health one piece of the equation. Also a lot of good people wouldn't have left this country if we all looked after each other.

Well done Nu-Labour! Like the results of most things you do, I'm sure you didn't intend the outcome.

Roll on 2010. It's either going to be the Conservatives or BNP in power. I want the reality-orientated Tories, as they will shake things up again and introduce the UK into the real world. That's the only real long-term answer.

Hang on a minute, nearly 80% of those who actually bothered to vote in Moston DIDN'T VOTE BNP!! This at a time of Labour scandal, deep recession & foreign terrorist threat!
And weren't we being told that the Hyde & Moston BNP candidates were actually going to win?? So well done to the people of Moston for rejecting the hatemongers and booting out the fascists.

It's always been a stock Labour strategy to talk up the BNP in an attempt to stop voters drifting to other parties which have a realistic chance of beating them.

The BNP is a party for chavs and most of its target audience probably couldn't work out how to vote. They're an irrelevance and after the next election, the equally odious Labour party will hopefully be in the same boat.

Too much alarm up north, methinks. The BNP as a party is nothing to be fearful of...apart from its somewhat understandable rallying cry to Be British/Buy British (though I suspect the second part of this equation is not strictly adhered to by BNP sympathisers themselves!) there's not much else to the party's political ideaology. Even the world's most infamous Nationalist party, the Nazi party, had more substance to it than unfortunately does the BNP.

Don't get me wrong, I ain't no Labourite, Conservative-shmite or Lib Dem doddler either - all are self-interested as each other, and guess what, the BNP are no different - just a bit more desperate, that's all.

If we all live together and are happy with each other then thats ok, but there are a lot of people with agendas who come here and want to destabilize in the long run and they are the ones who need to be kept out. There are many people who come here who hate this country and it's history with a vengeance.
