FORMER Fawlty Towers star Andrew Sachs shares a joke with Coronation Street co-star Malcolm Hebden as they film an episode of the soap.

The veteran actor, who played dozy Spanish waiter Manuel in the classic 1970s comedy, has arrived on the cobbles as Weatherfield's latest resident, the half-brother of Kabin co-owner Norris, played by Hebden. He plays Ramsay Clegg, the illegitimate son of Norris's mother, who gave birth to him as a teenager.

Sachs, 78, was at the centre of a recent storm over prank phone calls made to his answerphone by Radio 2 presenters Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand.
