A TAKEAWAY boss believes he has perfected the centuries-old recipe for pizza - by stuffing the crust with kebab meat.

Mo Anwar, 37, says Zoha's Chippy in Whalley Range has done a roaring trade since he put the added extra on his menu this year.

Some pizzas already come with a cheese-filled crust, but Mo decided to go a step further by combining fast foods.

He said: "The idea just came in the night and we tried it out. I thought, `Why stop at cheese when you can use meat instead?' We started giving it out to people and they told us they loved it."

Mo, who adds lamb, chicken or doner meat, added: "We're becoming famous for it. People are now coming here to see what all the fuss is about."

Pizza is thought to have been invented by the Ancient Greeks, who `anointed' baked flatbread with oil and herbs.

It became popular in 18th century Italy and the patronage of Queen Margherita led to the addition of cheese and tomatoes.
