TWO hooded carjackers sped off with the terrified owner of the vehicle sandwiched between them before stopping and pushing her from the car.

The men pounced as the 38-year-old woman got into her black Audi A3 in Valley Road, Heaton Mersey at about 10.40pm on Tuesday night.

The men got in both sides at the front of the car and squashed the woman between them. After a short distance they stopped and shoved her from the vehicle.

She was not hurt but was left shaken by the incident.

The vehicle, which has not been recovered, was seen in Fallowfield just after midnight.

Det Insp Kevin Dolan of Stockport CID said: "This must have been a frightening experience for the victim.

"She had just sat in her car when both front doors were flung open and two men got in.

"They sat on both front seats, squeezing her between them until they decided to let her go.

"Thankfully, they only drove a matter of a few yards up the road, but it must have been the longest few moments of her life, not knowing what was going to happen."

Both men were Asian, between 21 and 25, about 5ft 10in, slim and had Mancunian accents.
