A MAN has been jailed for sexually abusing a schoolgirl after luring her to a hotel room.
Mahmood Nawaz, 27, from Stockport, swapped numbers with the teenager, despite knowing she was under age, and invited her on a day drip.
She went along to meet Nawaz and took along friends.
Nawaz took them to a hotel where he plied them with alcohol before trying to have sex with girl.
Her friends alerted hotel staff and Nawaz drove away in his van. The children later told police what had happened and Nawaz was arrested.
Nawaz, of Heald Green, admitted one charge of sexual assault and a child sex offence.
He was sentenced to 18 months in jail at Manchester Crown Court and will remain on the Sex Offenders Register for five years.
Det Con April Hopwood, who investigated the case, said: "Despite knowing how old his victim was he made arrangements to meet her, plying her and her friends with alcohol in an attempt to get what he really wanted.
"Luckily, the children realised what was happening was wrong and managed to put an end to the situation."

For the sake of the next child he will most definitely abuse. If he does then the judge should be held responsible. hope we hear what happens to this person when they come out, and what help has been given to this poor child. as the world gone mad...
