A MAN was shot in the arm during a robbery at his home in Manchester.
The 37-year-old victim struggled with two men who broke into his home in Barcicroft Road, Didsbury, before being shot.
Police were called to the property just before 7am today. The man had a gunshot wound and was taken to hospital but his injuries were not life threatening.
Nothing was stolen during the raid.
Both attackers are described as white and had dark hooded tops. One is described as tall and skinny and the other shorter and fatter.
Detective Inspector Mark Hudson, from West Didsbury CID, said: "Anyone prepared to threaten a man at gunpoint in order to steal cash is clearly a danger and must be caught so we can put him behind bars where he belongs.
"The victim was fortunate not to have been more seriously injured and I would encourage anyone with information to call police."
Anyone with any information is asked to call West Didsbury CID on 0161 856 6153, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Wilst I commend the mans bravery for standing up to these scum, it must be stressed that you have to be very careful when doing it. They dont care about life like we do, and they play dirty tricks.
They shot an unarmed man for no reason apart from they are not big enough to fight with their hands.
Using a gun is a completely cowardly act. I trust that out judicial system, when these scum are found guilty, will get at least a month in prison. Much shorter than they should get for the original burglary - never mind the firearms offence.
More prisons are needed.

I am going to rob this house, someone might be in, but I am a coward and I might be beaten and arrested and loose my liberty. I will just take a loaded gun and shoot them if they try it on I am not bothered about their life it is about me.
