A NEWSAGENT stabbed in the chest during an attempted robbery has told of his sympathy for the knifeman he believes was trying to murder him.
Rohullah Nazari fought with the thug for up to five minutes at Nazari newsagent, Little Underbank, Stockport.
He eventually managed to push the man off and get outside the shop where he tried to hold the door shut in a failed attempt to keep the man inside. Rohullah only noticed blood and realised he had been stabbed after the man, who was armed with a large kitchen knife, ran off.
Rohullah suffered a stab wound to the chest and cuts to his arm and hands.
He described how he was sitting behind the till when the man walked and put the knife to his face demanding cash.
He said: "I didn't have anything to defend myself with and wanted to grab his hand to stop him using the knife.
"I was trying to get the knife, shouting for help and thinking a customer would come in.
"At the time I didn't feel the injuries but now I feel lucky to be alive.
Attack
"He didn't care about my life, he just wanted what he wanted and I feel he wanted to kill me.
"You hear about people dying from knife injuries and people like that don't care about someone's life. They are willing to kill for £1 or £5."
Rohullah only took two days off work after the attack and is determined it will be business as usual.
He said: "I feel really sorry for the attacker, his family and people like that. The family is responsible for making sure children get a good education, take responsibility for their actions and know right from wrong.
"When someone does something like this I think they should all feel ashamed.
"I don't have children but if I did it would be important for me to look after their education and make sure they have a positive role in society."
The knifeman is white, about 20, 6ft, slim, and wearing a black jacket, trousers and hat.
Det Sgt Hayden Roberts said: "The victim was attacked while simply trying to get on with his job.
"The offender didn't manage to get away with anything as the man fought him off but it is lucky he wasn't more seriously injured and I would always urge anyone faced with a similar situation to call police."

Unfortunately the moment people dabble with drugs some of them are going to end up like this whatever the family background.

No sympathy, no counselling, no understanding - just brutal, urelenting punishment.

Do you think that he has any remorse or sympathy for you? Do you think had you been killed he would have sympathy for you?
Do you think he would do this again? Because I do.

You are so bang on the money. This really is the reason why our country is knackered because of liberal thinking people like this man. There is no reasoning with these mansters who attack people going about their daily work. The guy who attacked this shopkeeper should be thrashed before he is given hard labour of around five years.
