Pick up Tuesday's Manchester Evening News to read our columnist John Stapleton's report on the preparations for the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States.
John, who is in America to broadcast on the historic event for GMTV, has described the scenes in Washington as the eyes of the world turn to the new President.
Elsewhere in the paper, Dianne Bourne reveals Greater Manchester will be without a Michelin-starred restaurant for the first time in 11 years.
This year's famous foodie guide has withdrawn the single star previously awarded to Juniper in Altrincham, because the restaurant changed hands last year and the new owners have not yet been reviewed to see if standards have been kept up.
Juniper boss Michael Riemenschnieder is confident his eaterie will regain its coveted Michelin star once the reviewers find time to sample his wares.
