The Greater Manchester SkillCentre will help more than 1,000 trainees a year develop employable skills such as joinery, engineering, bricklaying and motor repairs.
The £1m centre features practical workshops, training bays and classrooms incorporating the latest equipment.
Set up by training group Manchester Solutions - and opened by education and skills minister and Stretford and Urmston MP Beverley Hughes - the centre will be used by adults as well as school pupils on one-day-a-week courses.
