COMPETITION is heating up in the Channel M News Christmas Choir competition.

Ten primary schools from Greater Manchester are in the running for the chance to sing live on the M.E.N's sister TV station.

The finalists are: Tonacliffe Primary, Lancashire; Beaver Road, Didsbury; St Peters C E, Leigh; Gee Cross Holy Trinity; Ravensbury Community, Clayton; Rushcroft Primary, Oldham; Millbrook, Stalybridge; Canon Burrows CE, Ashton- under-Lyne; Tameside Higher Lane, Whitefield and Corpus Christi RC, Oldham.

Each school will feature on Channel M between 5pm and 7pm over the next two weeks - then viewers will be able to text a vote for their favourite.

The winning choir will be announced on Monday, December 15, and will perform live in Channel M's Urbis studios on Thursday, December 18.
