A BROKEN down car on a motorway bridge caused traffic chaos for travellers today.

The vehicle was forced to stop at the highest point of Barton bridge on the M60 near the Trafford Centre just before 8am, blocking one lane of traffic on the anti-clockwise road.

Officers from the Highways Agency eventually managed to safely move the vehicle.

There were further delays on the M62 and M61 road near Bolton, where morning traffic slowed down to 5mph. end
