OUSTED X Factor star Laura White has been approached by record company bosses as the row over her shock exit reaches Westminster.
The M.E.N. can reveal that a record label has contacted the 21-year-old Atherton singer, who was axed on Saturday night in one of the biggest upsets in the history of the show.
Meanwhile, Culture Secretary Andy Burnham, who is also Laura's local MP, told the Commons Laura had been `very harshly' axed from the X Factor. The Labour politician spoke out as a petition on the internet attracted scores of signatures.
Laura, a student at Bolton University, found herself one of the bottom two performers after a performance of Endless Love. But after a sing-off, in which she sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow in memory of her granddad, the judges chose to axe her and keep Spanish singer Ruth Lorenzo.
One poster on the online petition, William Fitzpatrick, said: "Laura White has talent and potential. Given the circumstances, she should still be in the X Factor. She is better than some of the remaining contestants."
Laura has a string of TV and radio appearances booked for the next couple of days and has been staying in a top London hotel. Her 50-year-old dad, Adrian White, told the M.E.N: "The label got in touch trying to find out Laura's number. We were waiting to see what they've got to say, and keeping our fingers crossed."
He added: "It's wonderful that someone has gone to the effort of starting this petition and that so many people have signed it. People clearly feel that an injustice has been done."
Mr Burnham lent his support to Laura during Question Time in the Commons after Tory MP Robert Goodwill told ministers the BBC should provide more family programming.
Speaking of Mr Burnham's support, Mr White added: "It's absolutely brilliant - it must be big news."

Come to think of it, I entered a competition to win a car and didn't, I may get in touch with my MP and ask him to bring it up in the Commons.

Axe the X factor, if it's so obviously rigged.

Hate to be a cynic but could that possibly be the real reason the judges showed her the door?!

People who allow the X factor (and any other fast track to talent garbage),to become so important in their lives should have a lobotomy...
Local MP's involved..what on earth is going on here. Priorities??

I have nothing against Laura, although I never watch the X factor, I am sure she is a nice girl and has some talent, but, it is just TV, get real, get some sense of proportion please

If she deserved to be in the final then the public vote would have got her there.
It seems that the idea of graciously accepting defeat is lost on these jumped up wannabes, who think that they have some divine right to fame and the luxurious lifestyle it can bring no matter what the public think!

Apart from Leona, the previous winners have shown this. Shayne Ward - cute but nothing special. Leon Jackson. Who? Oh, the one playing second fiddle to Frosty the Snowman at the Christmas Lights switch-on this year. Also the one who shouldn't have won but the judges wanted him in the final as they knew the whole of Scotland would vote for him - ker-ching!
Simon Cowell secretly loves that pub singer Daniel (Ricky Gervais) is still in because the "controversy" is making more and more people vote.
I'm sure it's no coincidence that Laura has started dating one of the producers of the X Factor and Simon probably thought he had to get rid of her to "prove" that it's not rigged.
I'm going now because I've embarrassed myself by how much I know about the X Factor. There's just nothing else on tv at that time on a Saturday!

And it shouldn't go to the panel to decide who stays because it shows the public are wasting their money, don't the public see this. It is the public vote or nothing.

The truth of it all is that the general public didn't vote in the first place. I have to agree they were the wrong people to be in the sing off but if viewers are going to vote on sympathy then what do you expect.
On top of all that i personally think that Ruth sang much better in the sing off than Laura. Watching the preformances Ruth fought for that place where as i gained the impression that Laura thought she would walk it and the judges would keep her in.
If people are that obbsessed with the outcome of the show then they should be voting, voting for the talent in the show which my personal list does not include Daniel or Rachel.
Guess it's a leson learned for the general Public.
DONT FOR OUT OF SYMPATHY !!!
