INDIE rock favourites The Killers have announced a Manchester date as part of an arena tour.

The Las Vegas band will play the M.E.N. Arena on March 9, 2009, as part of their biggest tour to date.

After winning over fans with albums Hot Fuss and Sam's Town - which sold a total of 12 million copies - the band, fronted by Brandon Flowers, release their new album Day and Age on November 24.

The band are reportedly preparing a Christmas single with Elton John entitled `Joseph, Better You Than Me'.

There are 10 gigs at stadiums around Britain, including Sheffield and Nottingham.

Tickets for the Manchester gig, priced at £32.50, go on sale at 10am on October 10, from the box office on 0844 847 8000, online at www.gigsandtours.com, or from the ticket hotline on 0871 2200 260.

I think this is really disgusting. How can they allow convicted criminals out of prison just to play a concert. They should do a Johnny Cash and play a concert inside for their fellow inmates. The streets won't be safe for anyone with these killers out on the streets. What if they escape during practice while the guards back's are turned? I know what I'll be doing on March 9th.....staying in!

Garsinho is spot on.There is a clear public safety risk, re this mobs performance.The pc politico's have gone too far this time,in fact this is the furthest they have gone since the last time,that they went too far.
Again we see our pc lawmakers,going mad, with more "pc gone mad" type madness.
What about The Victims,don't they get a chance to play ?Yet again the rights of the criminals,are placed above that of the decent,law abiding,decent person,in the street,minding their own business,being decent ,and indeed innocent.
I don't need to know the facts,or indeed hear any details, to know all about this,the headline alone,tells me enough,to get me riled.
This rehabilitation, of these no doubt,evil and vicious killers,using taxpayers taxes is just another example of open door Britain,and Euro superstate madness,directed from Brussels.
I bet the mad pc gone mad brigades, of pc social workers,and nanny goats,are all smiles as Red Ken Livingstone, puts another nail in the coffin of family values.
You couldn't make it up..
If I said what he did,id be accused of racism..Political madness gone correct,once again.
Oh it's the group called "The Killers",oh they do some good stuff they do.

Was really looking forward to seeing the Killers - but was unable to get standing tickets event though I was online at 10am - but if I do want to go and see them I can pay £50-80 above the face value - isn't that nice of the offical ticket outlets ! I guess the credit crunch hasn't hit them !!!
