HITMAN Ricky Hatton will join Oasis on stage in Liverpool later this month as he prepares to launch his own pop career.
The Hattersley fighter is hoping some of their musical talent will rub off before he records a charity Christmas single.
The 29-year-old is planning to release his version of Jeff Beck's 60s hit Hi-Ho Silver Lining. Hatton and comedian pal Joey Blower have already written a version of the song, titled Hi Ho Ricky Hatton which has been played on several occasions during the build-up to the fighter's clashes.
Now the pair hope to record the song professionally and want to recruit Noel Gallagher along with players from their beloved Manchester City to join in.
The fighter's team say the light-hearted single will poke fun at Hatton's tendency to pile on the pounds following successful bouts.
Ricky, who is a long-time friend of the Gallagher brothers, from Burnage, will be acting as MC and will introduce the rock idols at their concert.
The presence of two-time world champion Hatton will also be a welcome addition to the band's security arrangements.
Noel Gallagher was assaulted during a gig in Toronto recently, when a concertgoer climbed on stage and punched him to the ground.
The boxer is in training for a Los Vegas showdown with US fighter Paulie Malignaggi.
