A WOMAN escaped injury after a gunman opened fire at a flat today.
The attack took place in the early hours of the morning today in Goodwood Avenue on the Racecourse housing estate in Sale.
Two windows at the flat were damaged in the shooting at around 1.15am, but the 28-year-old woman, who was alone, was unharmed.
Detective Inspector Ben Ewart, from Trafford CID, said: "We are currently doing house to house inquiries in the area to try to piece together what happened this morning.
"Although no one was injured, a firearm was discharged and that means we are dealing with dangerous people who have no regard for human life.
"Greater Manchester Police is committed to removing guns from the streets of Manchester, and people who think it is acceptable to carry or use them belong behind bars."
Anyone with any information is asked to call Trafford CID on 0161 856 7691 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
