A DRIVER had his car stolen as he was about to take it through a car wash at Morrisons supermarket in Rochdale.

The 65-year old had just got out of his blue VW Golf to put a guard on the windscreen wiper, when he was punched in the ribs and pushed to the floor by a man who drove off through a red light on Kingsway, leaving his victim uninjured but shaken.

The car was later recovered in the Waithlands Road area of the town.

The thief is described as white, aged 20 to 30, with shoulder length black hair covering both sides of his face. He was wearing dark clothing.
