A NOTORIOUS Manchester gangster has been rushed to hospital under armed guard after collapsing in his cell.
Domenyk Noonan - who was jailed in 2005 after guns and ammunition were found in his car - complained of feeling unwell at Frankland jail in Durham last week.
He was seen by prison medical staff but his condition did not improve and he was taken to University of Durham Hospital the following day. He remains in the hospital where he is being treated by doctors.
Noonan, 44, from Moston, who changed his surname to Lattlay-Fottfoy, was jailed for nine-and-a-half years in December 2005 after he was convicted of having a handgun and five.357 Magnum bullets in his Jaguar car.
He was described by a judge as a "very dangerous man who is clearly a risk to the public."
Noonan is the brother of murdered Manchester hard-man Desmond Noonan, who was stabbed to death on a Chorlton housing estate in 2005.
Shortly before his death the pair were filmed for a TV documentary about Gangsters where they boasted of having a "bigger army than the police."
A Prison Service spokesperson said: "A prisoner at HMP Frankland is currently being treated at outside hospital. We do not comment on individuals."

I'd like to think you're a Scottish assassin, Laura, or maybe a ganster's mole? Go on, humour me...

Surely the armed guard is to stop people trying to help him escape?

Mumto1... right. And by 'crossing' him, does that include being in the wrong place at the wrong time? Such as being the security guard who gets shot or battered when a robbery's being carried out? Or being the pub landlord who has to sit back and do nothing while drugs are being dealt on his premises because he's too scared to phone the police? Or being the innocent bystander who gets caught in the crossfire when these charming chaps decide to start shooting each other? Or indeed the shopkeeper or bar-owner who finds themselves having to pay up 'protection money' to them every week for the privilege of not having their premises burned to the ground? Or try being the witness who's summoned to court and has their children's lives threatened if they agree to give evidence?
Frankly, when people talk about local gangsters as if they were loveable rogues who 'only go after their own', it makes me want to vomit. They're the very lowest of the low.

When you read the family history, his parents must be very proud the way the kids have turned out.
