A TEENAGER escaped injury after a huge explosion at a house in Manchester.
Windows were blown out and porch was destroyed when a ‘homemade device’ exploded at the property on Parrs Wood Road, Withington.
An 18-year-old woman was in the house alone at the time of the blast at 9.30 pm on Wednesday night but escaped unhurt.
The explosion destroyed the front porch and blew out windows from the house and also the property next door.
Det Insp Will Chatterton, of West Didsbury CID, said the woman was ‘extremely lucky' to escape from the wreckage unscathed.
He added: “Whoever did this clearly didn’t care if anyone was hurt or killed and needs to be caught. The damage was quite breathtaking.
“It blew the porch to pieces and damaged several windows. I cannot speculate on a motive for this, but we are clearly dealing with people who have no regard for human life.”
Anyone with information is asked to call West Didsbury CID on 0161 856 6153 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Quite right Det.Inspector, we are!
Those people are the judiciary, who hand down pathetic sentences to recidivists and your own people, Det.Inspector, the police, who expend more manpower on speeding and escorting celebs than ever they do on the beat.

Dunno, the incidents were in Withington - I live in Didsbury.
I've had some high old times in MP and NH - salt of the earth people (in general) IMO.

How long will it be before Didsbury spreads to Moston?

As far as withington is concerned, some years ago they expanded the didsbury border to encompass some of withington. obviously houses in that area were not overpriced enough already.
