A HERO neighbour launched a dramatic rescue to save a teenage girl from a house fire.

The 13-year-old cried out for help from an upstairs bedroom window after an electrical fault in a television sparked a blaze in the living room of the house in Clarksfield Road, Oldham.

The neighbour clambered up onto the porch roof then helped the girl climb out of the window to safety.

She was left shocked but unhurt following the drama just after midday yesterday (Saturday).

Fire chiefs today praised the actions of neighbours and said a smoke alarm alerted the girl to the fire, possibly saving her life. The house was badly damaged.
