PLANS for a beach in the centre of Manchester have fallen victim to the weather again.
Bosses at Sankey's nightclub say the weather will become too bad to go ahead with their ambitious bid to transform Hardman Square in the heart of the city's new Spinningfields business district.
Plans were initially drawn up last year for an urban beach outside Urbis, when 80 tonnes of sand were ordered from the Bahamas.
But the poor summer weather meant it never got off the ground.
Now plans for The Beach Club Manchester - complete with sandpits, decking, parasols and palm trees - have been put on hold again.
David Vincent of Sankeys said: "Due to predictions over the next three weeks, we have decided to postpone the beach club until next year.
"In order for the whole project to be financially viable, we need the beach club to run for at least two months."
According to the plans, if built next year, the beach will be open between 11am and 11pm.
