Daniel Sparrow, a pupil at Parklands High, Wythenshawe, took a starring role in the time-travelling drama.
Daniel, 15, is a founder member of student action group Rite2no, which campaigns on green issues, and earlier this year the M.E.N. told how the group had made the film which sees them witness the devastation of global warming in the future.
Now Daniel's efforts have seen him win a Manchester Education Award at a ceremony at the town hall. The 30-minute film, A Change For The Better, has been shown to more than 17,000 pupils in schools as far away as Africa.
Daniel said: "Making the film was a lot of fun." Tweet
