AN 81-year-old woman has slammed the `low life' who stole her disability scooter.
Evelyn Johnson, who runs a cattery in Stockport, was hoping to use the scooter to get out and about when she retires in a couple of weeks.
She paid £400 for the dark green scooter 18 months ago. She has been left baffled by the theft.
Evelyn was staying overnight at the cattery on Garners Lane, Adswood, when it was stolen.
She said: "The night before the scotter had been uncovered and an attempt made to force the gate. It had never occurred to me to nail the scooter to the ground.
"I feel absolute anger. How can you go so low and make such an effort to steal a disability scooter?
"I'm appealing in the hope someone has seen it dumped somewhere or knows where it is so it can be returned."
Anyone with any information should contact police on 0161 872 5050.
