After winning a photographic heat, the reigning Miss Warrington competed in the Miss England semi-final against 42 other girls.
She was interviewed and took part in a talent and bikini contest to win her place in the final against 49 more hopefuls.
Holly, an English language and linguistics student, said: "This is one of the hardest competitions I've been in. I was just praying I'd get a chance in the final again."
The judging panel, which included former Manchester United legend George Best's son Calum, selected the girls for the Miss England Final on July 18 in London.
If Holly, 20, from Culcheth, is crowned Miss England, she would win £30,000 worth of prizes, the use of a new car for a year, £1,500 worth of designer wear and other goodies.
She finished in fourth place last year - and will not be allowed any more attempts.
