A BOY of 17 has been charged over a burglary which left an 88-year-old with a broken hip.
The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was due to appear in court today charged with burglary.
It follows a raid at the home of an elderly couple in Didsbury at about 3.50pm on Friday, June 6, in which the husband suffered a fractured pelvis. He remains stable in hospital. The thieves took just a few pounds.
A police investigation into the incident is continuing.
Det Insp Will Chatterton said: "Our investigation is certainly not over."
