A TEENAGER who waged a campaign of terror against two schools has been hit with an anti-social behaviour order.
The Asbo - passed by magistrates as four teachers were preparing to give evidence against him in court - bans him from all schools in his town, except his own.
The boy targeted Whitefield Community Primary School and Philips High School, both in Whitefield, near Bury.
During one incident at the primary, he burst into an art session being run for the community during the summer holidays and ran around the classroom, swearing in front of young children and abusing members of staff, Bury council said. The local authority said he also made drug-related effigies out of modelling clay and tried to damage the school gates.
Bury magistrates passed a two-year anti-social behaviour order after a council application.
Council bosses said teachers and staff at both schools `flatly refused to tolerate his actions'.
Four teachers and a support staff member attended the hearing but they were not required to give evidence.
"Support"
Rachel Sayers, Bury's anti-social behaviour manager, said: "This order was only made possible because of the support of the staff members at both schools. "This is an example of what can be achieved and I would urge other schools to report any problems to us. The schools just flatly refused to tolerate this boy's actions."
As well as being banned from schools, the boy is also barred from all roads and walkways surrounding Whitefield Community Primary School, on Victoria Avenue.
The teenager, from Whitefield, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is also banned from roads and paths surrounding Philips High off Park Lane and Whitefield Golf Course.
The council said he first targeted the primary school more than two years ago.
In February 2006, staff saw him throwing stones at windows, climbing over gates and setting fires on the school's field.
He signed an `Acceptable Behaviour Contract' following the art class incident in September last year but was subsequently convicted of a burglary at Philips High.
Broken into
The council said two geography rooms were broken into. He was sentenced by magistrates to a supervision order.
A council spokesman welcomed the Asbo and said it served as a warning to others.
She said: "It was only made possible by members of the staff at the two schools giving statements and agreeing to appear in court to provide information about the anti-social behaviour and the negative impact this had had on their schools.
"It contains specific conditions to keep him away from the two schools he has targeted and from the staff who gave evidence in support of the Asbo.
"This is the fourth time that Bury council has taken legal action against somebody for causing a nuisance on school premises and formal warnings have been given to a number of other youths. The teenager on this occasion had previously been warned both by the police and council for his conduct on school grounds.
"Vandalism and theft has a huge negative impact on the staff, local residents and especially pupils of schools targeted."
If he breaches his Asbo, the boy could be jailed for up to five years.

Vandalism, arson, burglary, = an asbo! what do you have to do in this day and age to be locked up. this boy needs to be told that if he really wants to go to prison when he gets older he'll have to do something really bad like not paying council tax or tv licence. wrecking schools and being a general pain in the rear will get him nowhere. one final thing if he's got an asbo and he can't be named how do people know if he's breaking it or not
He already signed a silly 'acceptable behaviour contract', a piece of paper that didn't stop him from subsequently burglaring a school.
In essence, we're fighting crime with bits of paper now. I bet the ASBO has got him quaking in his shoes, and his head hanging low with shame.
Stupid, silly, ineffectual and ineffective claptrap. It makes one despair.
i think his parents should be slapped with an ASBO for giving birth to him
Another badge of honour for his CV
Fine him and his family heavily - hit them where it will hurt the most!
Forget this Asbo lark - what a waste of paper, surely that's isn't 'green'!
And this is really going to be effective isn't it. Not.
Shame he didn't put the bin out early as well then we could have added this to the offences and he'd be in jail in no time.
"The teenager, from Whitefield, who cannot be named for legal reasons"....I, as I am sure most are, am sick of seeing this!, it is time the laws were changed to accommodate the mature, sickening advances in child/youth behavior, this law is outdated by the adult crimes these brats, who are seen as innocents, commit, even murder does not sway the law makers into sensible decision making, but then they do not live amongst this scum breeding bunch. The parents of this trash should be physically attached/sewn to their offspring forcing parental interest in the KIDS whereabouts/actions and others of the same ilk would consider rearing their skids in a much more sociably accepted way!. ASBO..?..whats that?.. Award Scummy Behavior Officially..It is an insult to the intelligent law abiding citizens of this country, needs to be scrapped and replaced with loss of benefits/council homes where applicable, and imprisonment for both the skid and the parent/s. the latter being forced to work to pay for their families keep/cell accommodation. this has become a hideous country led by middle class idiots.
After thought..Why are prisons not large factories?, with the huge captive labour to work a wage less forty hour week to pay for their keep, the profit spent on closing down prisons as their would be less enthusiastic inmates to accommodate.
I wonder if authorities really believe these asbo's work - or whether they just give them out because it looks like they are doing something - but too scared to do anything like give them a custodial sentance? A damn good hiding is what the boy wants - and before the pc brigade start shouting - a very high percentage of us were chastised in this way and we all turned out ok! I was smacked as a kid, never been arrested, carried a knife or mugged anyone. That's what this little so and so needs!!!
