POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with a robbery in Salford.

A 17-year-old girl was slapped across the face by a man who stole a bag she was carrying which contained her work uniform and bank card.

Police want to speak to the man in the image in connection with the robbery on Oldfield Lane, Islington, Swinton, on April 12.

The robber walked off along Oldfield Road towards Regent Road. The bankcard was never used.

Pc Gemma Wilson said: "The victim was making her way home from work when she was subjected to a frightening ordeal. I would appeal to anyone that may recognise the man to come forward and speak to police."
