GUNMEN fired on a man through the front window of a house before forcing their way inside and shooting him again.

The 27-year-old victim was taken to hospital after being hit in the stomach, back and leg, but police say his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The three attackers struck at a house in Firbank Road, Newall Green, Wythenshawe just before midnight last night.

After hitting him twice with shots fired through the window, they forced open the door and shot him a third time before making off towards Greenwood Road on foot.

Detective Inspector Mark Willdigg said: "This was a horrific attack, and the victim is fortunate to be in a stable condition. "While we have had a number of eyewitness accounts, we believe that there are more people out there who can help us track down the offenders, and I would appeal to them to come forward."

All of the men were dressed in dark clothing, two were wearing Nike trainers, and are believed to have covered their faces. One was of stocky build and 5ft 10ins, another was slim and about 5ft 10ins.
