CCTV footage has been released of three people police would like to speak to following an assault on a bus driver in Chorlton.

Between 10.15pm and 10.40pm on Thursday, September 6, 2007, the 42-year-old bus driver asked three people to get off the bus on Manchester Road.

They refused before starting to kick and punch him - injuring his head and body.

Officers are appealing for the public's help to trace three people caught on CCTV around that time.

Police constable Allan Dean of South Manchester division said: "This was a completely unprovoked attack, which left a man, who was simply doing his job, injured and traumatised.

"People who regularly travel on the number 86 bus route through Chorlton, may recognise these people. I would urge anyone who knows who they are to get in touch.

"The victim wants to put this incident behind him and making the sure people who committed this disgraceful attack are caught will help him in doing so."
