A MAN has died after being hit by a HGV lorry on a motorway.

He was involved in an accident with the vehicle near junction 21 of the M60, between Chadderton and Failsworth just after 5pm on Friday.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers closed the motorway to carry out a detailed examination.
