Woman, 92, attacked by thief

A WOMAN of 92 was assaulted by a thief as he ransacked her home.

A neighbour found her crying on the doorstep.

The attacker woke the woman when he knocked on the front door of her home in Prospect Road. He forced his way inside, pushed her to the floor and demanded money, twisting her arm and threatening to break it.

He left with cash and jewellery including three gold and diamond rings, one of which was initialled MW. The pensioner was treated in hospital for an injury to her arm and has been left very distressed by the ordeal.

The thug was dark skinned, with black hair and dark clothing.

Det Sgt Liz Hopkinson described him as a `coward' and added: "This was a shocking robbery on an elderly and vulnerable woman who has understandably been left very upset.

"Not only did the offender steal cash, but he also physically assaulted a frail old woman which is unforgivable. I hope he is ashamed of his disgusting behaviour."Anyone with information on the attack, at 7am yesterday, should call 0161 856 8951.

I think it is disgusting that scum like that are still walking the street to attack a poor and defenceless woman.

I hope they catch this thug before he can do it again to another elderly person

I do not normally advocate violence but I would dearly love to twist the neck of the bullying sub-human who attacked this old lady. What a brave cretin he must be.
I hope he meets with a very unpleasant fate.

To 'adders'. If this disgusting specimen is ever caught he will almost certainly meet with 'an unpleasant fate'. He might get sent to jail where he can have three meals a day, telly in his 'room', go to the gym to make himself stronger and more able to hit old ladies. He can regularly access drugs. Hopefully he might, when stoned, hang himself and then campaigners will lament those terrible conditions he was kept in. But there again, he might get community service!

Scum like this will never get their just desserts whilst the human rights legislation includes them.

I propose that when ace gets into power, certain categories of sub-human are excluded human rights coverage.
