LANCASHIRE and England cricketer Andrew Flintoff is to appear in court charged with speeding.

The 30-year-old will be represented by renowned solicitor Nick Freeman, who is known as Mr Loophole for his ability to successfully defend stars.

The celebrity lawyer has also defended Sir Alex Ferguson, David Beckham, snooker's Ronnie O'Sullivan, the model Caprice and a host of other celebrities.

The offence is alleged to have happened on July 1, 2007.

Flintoff, a father-of-three, who lives in Altrincham, Cheshire, will appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court at 2pm.
