A MAN was violently assaulted twice in one night.
The 31-year-old was attacked after being asked to leave the Revise Bar on Wilbraham Road, Chorlton following an argument with a woman.
As he walked along nearby Corkland Road at about 11.50pm on Saturday he was struck with a weapon thought to be a knuckle duster. He suffered a broken finger, fractured cheekbone and received later received 14 stitches to his eye.
The victim returned to the bar to seek help but was thrown out and kicked as he lay on the floor.
A 28-year-old man was arrested and cautioned in relation to the second assault but an appeal has been sent out to trace the first attacker.
He is described as white, in his mid 20s, about 5ft 8in with short brown wavy hair.
Det Con Andrew Bromley, of West Didsbury CID, said: “It is completely unthinkable that this man should be subjected to two assaults in such a short space of time.
“To compound matters he was attacked when he went to seek assistance and was clearly in a distressed state.
“I am keen to speak to anyone that witnessed the first assault or anyone who knows the person responsible.”
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 6153 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 1111.

We now go out at weekends once or twice a month. We get there at about 4.30pm. We have a meal and drinks and ensure we're on our way home by say 9.
We still feel as though we've had a night out, even though we're back early. We then have tv/dvds & more beer if we want it. Or rather than go pubbing, we may go to friends' houses, or they come to us.
The chances of getting bludgeoned, stabbed, punched, kicked or verbally assaulted are considerably diminished. But at one time we never worried about it.

Members of staff immediately called an ambulance and sat with him making sure the young man was comfortable and as well as he could be whilst waiting on the arrival of the ambulance.
I dont think it is fair to insinuate that he was left to struggle alone when so many peopple did their best to ensure that he was safe and well before the aid of proffesional medical attention had arrived.
