POLICE marksmen shot dead two Rottweilers after the dogs killed a horse.
The dogs savaged the horse in a field at Clough End Road, Haslingden, Lancashire.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said a member of the public reported the dogs attacking the horse at 1.40 am today.
But when officers arrived the horse was dead and firearms specialists shot the dogs.
Describing the incident as "quite unusual" the spokesman said inquiries were being made to establish who owned the horse and dogs.

If i did that i would be here all day the problem is really bad.We need a zero tollerance in manchester for litter and dog fouling its the only way to get the message across to these people .and bring bacl dog licences with prison/fines for people who dont register or have a licence for their pet/dog .crack down on these people who use our green areas as their personell dog toilets.the pooper scoopers are free from the local councils.
