MP escapes ticking off

GORDON Brown refused to be drawn into criticism of his health minister Ivan Lewis after he suggested he had lost touch with voters.

Mr Lewis, MP for Bury South, said that the government was losing touch with voters' concerns and risked defeat at the next General Election.

Mr Brown said that he had heard Mr Lewis's message and added: "We are a government that consults and that's what we are going to do.

"Ivan's fine. We listen and I go round the country all the time," said the prime minister.

To punish him would be tantamount to confirming what he's saying.

The PM said we listen and I go round the country all the time. To carry on the way he does, with most of the country is getting fed up with his policies crime, immigration, education, NHS and inflation taking a large chunk of earnings. Problems with MPs expenses and allowances and he says he is listening come on PM don’t treat the people like idiots and fools we have a brain even if you think different.

Do we want a government that does not allow any criticism or dissent from it's own party. Free speech for all I say - I thought restriction of thought only happened in other countries

This government lost touch with the voters??This government dosnt even recognise it has voters until a few weeks before they want us to vote for them.We told this government about the price of petrol, the price of housing, the cost of living? And we wanted a referendum on europe, did they listen or even recognise what we wanted the answer was ""NO"" they just did what they wanted and didnt give a stuff about the people of this once great country. this government is controlled by europe and nobody else, the sooner we get out of europe the better...

SP in exile - quite right but you forgot about all the free things the Scots get that we have to pay for - university degrees, prescriptions and care home costs, just to name a few.

This government only listenes to the head of europe everybody else they dont hear. The only time the politicians listen is around voting time. And then they go back to listening to the heads of europe.that is why we will never get a referendum on europe.
