FOUR-YEAR-OLD Ruby Stinson, whose battle against a brain tumour captured the nation's hearts, is fighting for life in hospital.
Ruby had been put on a new chemotherapy drug at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital in Pendlebury - treatment her parents Rex and Joanne hoped would improve her quality of life.
But Rex, 40, said: "The doctors have said that she will not survive. She is very ill. We are preparing for the worst."
Ruby, who lives with her two sisters and brother in Cardigan Drive, Bury, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in February last year.
People from across the country supported a fundraising campaign, backed by former Mancheser United star Phil Nevile, to send the family on a trip to Disneyland, Paris.
Rex said: "It is really hard but we have got to get on with things to keep her happy. We are staying with her overnight.
"The doctors and nurses here are brilliant. All the staff have been brilliant."
