Christopher Barrett, 20, died after losing control while speeding on a bend on Victoria Avenue, Blackley, last July.
His silver Volvo went into a spin and ploughed into a lamppost. Christopher, who had just been accepted into the Professional Golfers' Association, died the next day in Hope Hospital from massive head injuries.
Manchester's deputy coroner Leonard Gorodkin said Victoria Avenue must have had more fatalities over the years than any other road in Manchester.
He said: "The road is so open it just invites speed - and this is a case of a young man driving too quickly and losing control."
Christopher's father John told the hearing his son `lived for golf' and played in several tournaments as an amateur.
Christopher, of Haigh Lane, Chadderton, worked at Bowlee Driving Range, in Middleton, near Rochdale.
His colleague Paul Jackson, who had been a front seat passenger, escaped with minor injuries. In a statement he said Christopher had been doing about 50mph when things began to go wrong on the bend.
A police accident expert said excessive speed led to loss of control.
The coroner returned an accidental death verdict. Tweet

Its time that we in britain started to control the size and of these kids cars and their licence conditions(until the age of 25 years old) you are on probation limited to 800cc cars with no modefications.max speed 40mph restrict their speeds.
ace, that would not have prevented this crash. Take that bend at 30 and you crash, 40 is achievable further still.
in a way i agree with ace, except that i think all cars should be limited in their mph. who on earth needs to do 80 miles an hour?
I knew Christopher and his family when he was a toddler. My thoughts are with his mum, dad and Sister. An absolute tragedy, and even more so in that it was down to a moment's foolishness. Other young men take note.
What's the speed limit on the corner?
Can't they make it 20 MPH? Someone mentioned here that 30 was enough to cause a problem.
Cameras and a 20 limit would be inconvenient but might save lives.
I live near this road and there have been several accidents on this stretch of road, sadly most of them are due to drivers speeding I travel along this road nearly everyday and some of the driving is terrible and is not just down to young drivers, there is one camera on the whole stretch of victoria ave/victoria ave east I have had drivers right on my tail because I am doing 30 and its not fast enough for them,I have actually seen some drivers doing 50/60 on here its time something was done on this road before there are any more accidents.
Sorry to hear of his death and toughts to his family and friends.
But I have to say that no road is dangerous sadly it is many things that cause crashes and most are due to the drivers ability to controll a car and drive within these.
Also I can never understand why trucks and buses have limiters fitted, in the case of truck to a speed of 56 MPH, so why are cars allowed to be able to do well in excess of 100mph, and I know in this case it was about 50 but that is not the point.
again I think this is down to the driving test and how drivers are taught to pass this test but no to drive. All who have a a license can drive a vehicle but not many can actually drive or even think about their driving this is what leads to the majority of crashes, very few are from mechanical failure, but driver error.
I'm all for advanced driving courses.
The type they give our Police.
There so much more to learn after the driving test. It's the parents responsibility to give them as a present to their children. It saves lives.
I agree with you all so far. The road needs restrictions, especially around the bend mentioned. Nobody really needs more than a 1.4 engine & kids under 25 need even more restrictions on their licences. You can't buy cigarrettes, alcohol or gamble your money legally until your 18, yet they are allowed to be in charge of a deadly weapon at 16?
We brainwash our young drivers from a early age. They see people like clarkson and hammond glorifying speed, all you have to do is watch any motoring show on tv and what are they saying? 0-60 in a few seconds. in cars that none of us could ever afford .Why not have a motoring show that shows what is the best and the safest cars etc. in motoring. or even the best stereos and other ICE related accessories ,or even the smartest designs in cars.OUR DRIVERS ARE BRAINWASHED.
