POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 25-year-old man had his face slashed in a bar.
The victim was at the Long Legs bar on George Street in Manchester City Centre early on Saturday evening.
He went to the toilet and when he returned another man was sitting in his seat. When he confronted the man he was attacked and his face slashed.
The victim was left with a three-inch gash to his left cheek, which required 17 stitches.
The attacker is described as white, in his 30s and of medium build.
Detective Constable Craig Mayberry, of Grey Mare Lane CID, said: "This was an unprovoked attack on a man who was enjoying a night out celebrating the Manchester United FA cup win over arsenal.
"It has left him with a nasty injury and I would urge anyone who may have seen this attack to get in touch with us. I would also like to appal to anyone who knows this offender to call police. He may have an injury to his eye. This may not have required treatment, but someone must know who this is."
Anyone with any information should call police on 0161 856 3240 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

To the CCTV question, the police say there is about 8 cameras to work from but it can be a bit hit and miss depending on the quality of the recording equipment and whether or not they were all working at the time etc........????
So fingers crossed but I will not be holding my breath.
