BEER will be flowing - at a festival to help raise £10,000 for Bury's League Two football club.

The annual Bury Beer Festival, organised by supporter's group Forever Bury, has secured the help of three former players to raise cash for the club.

Portsmouth striker David Nugent and Sheffield United's Chris Lucketti and Paddy Kenny have agreed to sponsor ales.

So the popular annual party - which is in its fourth year - will have a total of 39 beers, ciders and lagers on offer, alongside a continental bottle bar and live music. Organiser Dave Giffard said: "To get our ex-players getting in touch offering their support is fantastic.

"We've set a record this year for sponsorship raised but there are still barrels that need sponsoring if anyone is interested."

The festival will be held at Bury FC's social club, Gigg Lane, on February 28, from 4pm until 11pm. On February 29 and March 1 beer tents are open from noon until midnight.
