TORIES have lost overall control in Cheshire after the resignation of a leading councillor for `personal reasons'.
Shirley Harris has stepped down, which has cost the Tories their overall majority of just one.
They will now have 25 seats, Labour 16, Liberal Democrats eight and there is one Independent.
A decision will be made soon over a by-election for the vacancy in Northwich's Abbey division. Mrs Harris had a majority of 1,376 over the LiberalDemocrats.
She said: "I have very much enjoyed my six and a half years as a county councillor and I am sure I will miss being involved."
What do you think? Have your say.
