ARMED robbers made off with cash from an Oldham pub.

Four men, all wearing dark clothing and balaclavas and armed with large knives, burst into the Millgate pub on Ashton Road West in Failsworth and demanded cash shortly before 1.30pm yesterday.

The men took money from the tills ran off over playing fields close to Lord Lane.

One of the men is described as having piercing blue eyes.

Detective Constable Mark Tiffany of Oldham CID said: "Fortunately no one was hurt but the staff have been left extremely shaken. These men were prepared to walk into a busy pub armed with extremely dangerous weapons and they must be caught.

"I am appealing to anyone that was inside the pub at the time or who saw the men running away to come forward. I also want to hear from anyone who may know who the men are to come forward."
