A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of rape in the city centre. Police received reports that a man had been raped at the Basement Complex on Tariff Street shortly after 2.30am on Tuesday.
An investigation was launched and a 31-year-old man from the Miles Platting area has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
He is currently in police custody.
The investigation has been carried out with the full support and co-operation of the staff at the Basement Complex.
Detective Sergeant Trevor Eaton said: "We take all allegations of rape very seriously and I would like to reassure the community that our inquiries will continue until we establish exactly what has happened.
"The support we have received throughout the investigation from the staff at the Basement Complex has been fantastic."
