A WOMAN who was given two days to live in December is now planning her dream wedding on Valentine's Day.

Sharon Dunn, 46, was diagnosed with motor neurone disease a year ago, but her condition rapidly deteriorated at the end of last year and she was rushed to Hope Hospital, in Salford.

Her partner of 20 years, Nicolas Jones, had been planning to propose, went down on one knee at her bedside and popped the question.

Sharon wasn't in the right frame of mind to say yes but her health improved after Nicolas, 40, proposed and she was allowed home for Christmas.

So Nicolas, who is her full-time carer and father of her youngest son Reece, decided to propose again on Christmas Eve, Sharon's birthday, presenting her with a diamond engagement ring as she unwrapped her birthday gifts.

Sharon, of Heald Close, Shawclough, Rochdale, said: "I was shocked when he proposed for the first time and I wasn't in the right frame of mind to say yes straight away, but it was a different situation when he popped the question on Christmas Eve."

Incurable motor neurone disease causes loss of mobility in limbs and difficulty breathing and has left mother-of-three Sharon in a wheelchair. She also uses a respiratory machine. But she is determined to walk down the aisle at Rochdale Register Office.

Nicolas said: "I had planned to propose for six months. Then things came to the nitty-gritty in December and I decided to propose to her in hospital."
