A YOUNG woman is fighting for her life today after being hit by a tram.
The 25-year-old was crossing Mosley Street at the junction with Princess Street at 12.45am today when the accident happened.
She was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary but later transferred to Hope Hospital for emergency surgery for head injuries.
Police are contining to investigate how the accident happened.
Afterwards the junction was closed for about an hour-and-a-half to traffic and trams.
It was reopened at 2am.

I myself am a bus driver and experience the same thing day in and day out in Piccadilly i.e. people crossing the road when unsafe to do so.
