POLICE have issued CCTV footage of a terrifying robbery in which a shop worker was threatened with a large knife.

Two men, wearing hoods and covering their faces, went into the Mini Market store in Broom Lane, Levenshulme, shortly before 9pm on Saturday, December 29.

They threatened the man behind the counter with a large knife and stole cash from the till.

While one guarded the door to the shop, one of them punched the shop-worker in the head and forced him to load up plastic bags with cigarettes and alcohol from the shelves.

They even carried on when a customer came into the shop.

Both robbers were dressed in hooded tops. One was wearing a dark top and the other was dressed in a blue striped top.

Police officers have issued CCTV footage from inside the shop in a bid to catch the attackers

Detective Constable Laura Hughes of Longsight CID said: "The footage shows the shop-worker was clearly terrified during this robbery.

"He is seen rubbing his head after being punched. Although he was not seriously injured, he has been left shaken. I would urge anyone who may know who these robbers are to get in touch with us."

The one in stripes clearly puts his right (ungloved) hand on the counter before assaulting the shopworker. I daresay his front door will be getting kicked in bright and early one morning soon.

What a pair of brave heroes this couple of losers are...
No doubt these are the classic examples of reformed prisoners!!
The shopkeeper will not get real justice in this case ?When this scum is caught they need 100 lashes of the birch before they are sent to prison for no less than five/ten years very hard labour to work for their stay in prison,But in reality this soft legal system we have will give them two years in prison with everything found including TV education,food,games etc and any other luxury they want provided by the decent law abiding people of britain .The time has come to change the system to protect the innocent shop keepers and people of britain.
for those of you that dont know what a street rats are,welcome you have just been introduced!!!!!!!lowlife,scumbag kids they will probably escape with suspended sentences for this assault on an innocent shopowner,bang em up ,throw away the key,society wont miss em or better still give to our armed services in iraq and lets see how ard they really are,,,,,
The kid behind the counter doesn't seem to be wearing any gloves & appears to touch the area behind the counter several times. I suppose it might be beyond reason to expect fingerprints to be checked in those areas? It might be a lot quicker than releasing footage which doesn't really show their faces.
Do you really think they will get two years Ace? More like three months suspended, any more might infringe the poor little misunderstood darlings human rights. Since when was a victim's rights given priority? Justice is not for the law abiding these days, their human rights to be free to live their lives in peace come very low in the pc brigade's priorities.
