METROLINK services between Bury and Radcliffe were hit for the second time this week early today, when trams were unable to run because of flooding problems.
Early commuter services were cancelled, but from around 7.30am trams were running again, though at slow speed. A spokesman said: "We were able to get through, but advising passengers to allow extra time for their journeys."
Earlier this week services between the two stations had to be halted when floodwater covered the tracks. A replacement bus shuttle service was laid on, though services continued to run between Whitefield and Manchester city centre.
What do you think? Have your say.

You would think they'd start by adding a few more carriages...for years now it has been obviously that more were required but they'll hire some supposed professional consultant for thousands of pounds to tell them this fact!!

In case you il-informed people dont understand, ill use CAPS and space the follwing FACTS for you.... THE .... TRACK.....WAS...FLOODED!!.. FLOODED TRACK IS NOT SAFE!, THE BALLAST CAN BECOME DISLODGED OR EVEN WASH AWAY MAKING THE RAILS UNSAFE, IF A TRAM WAS TO PASS OVER THE AFFECTED AREA THE WEIGHT COULD CAUSE THE RAIL TO BUCKLE AND GIVE WAY! THATS WHY METROLINK DECIDED TO INCOVENIENCE YOU..... FOR YOUR SAFETY! but hey its still a rubbish service! and youd rather risk thr tram derailing just so you get to where you want to go, i agree to a point with your grieviences about over crowding, do you think its fun for us drivers trying to get to the cabs when changing drivers etc?, and the prices of tickets, season tickets etc, it a joke for what is offered but thats dodgy roger jones and his cronies at the gmpte that decide the prices metrolink charge not stagecoach!!, but what i
dont agree with i narrow minded people who dont have a clue about railway safety etc that spout off about things that have nothing to do with the story being reported, like i said moan about metrolink when its appropriate, im not risking my neck and my safety to drive a tram over UNSAFE, FLOODED infrastructure just so you peole can get to your comfy desk, or to the shops!! we cant control the weather, if you want to blame someone for this ,try blaming the owners of the field, that has slowly and steadily built up this vast amount of water for well over a week, yet nothing was done about it!! so the water built up and spread out eventually flowing onto the tracks and now is flowing through our tracks down the other embankment into the houses that back onto our tracks, now i think those poor people do have something to moan about!. and be angry about.
