POLICE are appealing for help to identify a man who collapsed and died in the street.

The man, who is thought to be in his 40s, collapsed at the junction of Stamford Road and Hamilton Road in Longsight at about 5pm on Thursday, January 10.

Ambulance crews took him to Manchester Royal Infirmary where he was later pronounced dead.

The police are now trying to identify the man and trace his next of kin.

He is described as Asian or Nepalese, about 5ft 6in tall, of medium build and with short, receeding dark hair and a goatee.

He was wearing a cream coloured jacket, black tracksuit bottoms and a red and grey patterned Nehru hat.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
