Dog killed after burglary

A DOG has been killed after a burglary at a house in Trafford. During the early evening on Monday, a number of men broke into a house on Buckingham Grove and stole two handbags which contained a small amount of cash.

They also took the dog, a Lhasa Apso. It was later found dead in the Bridge Water Canal that runs behind the house on Buckingham Grove. It's not yet known what injuries the dog received or how it died.

PC Martin Hill said: "This was a callous and needless act. The dog's owner has been left understandably upset and distraught. To break into someone's home is bad enough, but to take away and kill a loved pet is beyond belief.

"Someone must know who is responsible for this act of gross animal cruelty.

"I would appeal to anyone who may have seen anyone close to the house or with a dog by the Bridgewater Canal yesterday evening to contact police."

Would somebody who dosnt beleive in corporal punishment please respond to this matter and tell me why we dont need the birch and the death penalty re-instating? We have monsters in this country that will stop at nothing because they know that we dont have strong deterents in britain .THE TIME IS HERE THAT WE NEED THESE LAWS MAKING BETTER,NOW NOT NEXT YEAR OR THE YEAR AFTER...I hope that you monsters who read this burn in hell because karma will get you back .bloody anoyed at nothing being done to stop all this cruelty to our elders and our pets etc.

There was no need for this. Utter scum. Ace, I'm with you all the way - inadequate punishment only leads to more callous crimes. I'd have them birched in the stocks in Albert Square if it were up to me.

I'm sorry to say it 'ace' but there is no way any political party would bring back birching or hanging they would rather sweep it under the carpet.
We have enough desolate & freezing islands round our northern shores, put all the dregs on one and leave them there with basic rations go back after 12 months and see how many are left.
If the P.C. and Human Rights lot start complaining
give them a one way ticket to help out.

This is heart breaking to hear, I have lhasa apso's myself and if you know what sort of dog the lhasa apso is you would probably agree with me that they are soft and loving they don't even like to hear raised voices and to be taken from the owner must have been traumatizing. This is just like taking your child. They need to be caught. But if and when caught what sort of holiday will they get,??... These people should all get the same amount of time because not one of them let the dog go. Sick Drugged Up People.

Gato: my view entirely. Ordinary decent people now have to bite the bullet and vote in a government that will clamp down in draconian style on the scroungers, waster, idle, dishonest and criminal. If a few innocents get swept up as well then so be it.
