A MAN has died after he was involved in a collision with a taxi.

The 26 year old pedestrian was struck by a silver Skoda Octavia private hire cab shortly after 1.30am this morning near the Dean Brook pub, St Mary's Road, New Moston.

He was believed to have been lying in the road just before the collision.

The victim suffered multiple injuries and was taken to North Manchester General Hospital, where he later died.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently being interviewed by officers.
